Welcome to Just Flow. My name is Bianca and on this page, I would like to introduce you to my company.
Just Flow has grown from a small online store with just Flow Remedies crystal essences to a fully stocked store with Flow Remedies crystal essences, Miron violet glass and crystals as main products, with connecting products (and, I have to admit, some not so connected products that struck my fancy :D), like pendulums, dowsing rods, incense, sun catcher crystals and more.
Just Flow focuses mainly on retail customers, therapists (Flow Remedies/violet glass) and small producers/cottage industries (violet glass). At Just Flow, itÅ› possible to order just one of an item, for instance because you want to experiment with it or simply only need one. And if you need a few boxes or packs, I can supply that as well. Almost everything is available from stock, barring a few exceptions with a very low turnover. Of those items I've chosen to keep limited or no stock, but they are available on demand.
The story behind Just Flow is one of naturally going from one thing to the next, and the timeline below gives a bit of an overview of its history:
2010
In this year, the name of the store was changed to Just Flow as a result of moving it to a separate hosting account. The name Just Flow popped up during a car trip. I originally wanted Flow as the domain name, but that one was taken and I didn't have much luck thinking of something else. So I got frustrated and thought 'Dang it, I don't want to think of something else, I just want Flow'
Ding ding ding, do you remember the movie Jewel of the Nile? A running joke is that Joan is trying to get Al-Julhara to understand that her name is just Joan, but he keeps calling her Just Joan instead. So, I did get to use just Flow, a.k.a. Just Flow, with the added double meaning of going with the flow.
Or rather, because a wise man once told me that only dead fish go with the flow: finding a balance between surrendering to the flow of life or fighting against it. Come to think of it, that's more like 'changing what you can change and accepting what you can't change'.
OsCommerce wouldn't work on the new server, my main modules wouldn't work with the new version of OsCommerce and after a week of struggling, I threw in the towel and switched to Magento.
2020
Another big step: I finally reached my breaking point with Magento 2 maintenance and trouble shooting and threw in the towel. So I went looking for an alternative, and if you are reading this, the switch has been made.
The downside of SAAS (Software As A Service) is that I have less influence over the available features. On the other hand, I don't have maintenance tasks and Magento gremlins to deal with, so there is that. I've had to make a few large and small concessions, but also gained some features that were on my wishlist. On the whole, I can live with it
Me and Magento 2 had a bit of a love-hate relationship
. When it worked, it was amazing, but the times that it didn't, it was frustrating me to no end.Outsourcing proved to be a dead end because of the costs, so it was time for something else.'When nothing goes right, go left', right?
In the background, there was another project that started in 2020. Nearby my husband's business a small shed became available and we were able to rent it. It needed to be fixed up, which included building a mezzanine, on which storage space for me was built. At this point, the stock for Just Flow had taken over almost half our house, and as we didn't want to move yet, we decided to move the stock instead.
At the beginning of this year, my storage space was finished and I could begin filling it, which allowed me to have everything in one place instead of spread out over several rooms on two floors.
2022-2023
In 2022, a lot changed. We sold my husband's business, and after a pause to figure out what we wanted to do, we started a tile shop. It was small at first, with stock lots and outlet items, but when we came across premises in a great location, it became a matter of 'go big or go home'. At the end of 2023, we opened in our new location, which has a large storage space for Just Flow, with, for the first time, everything in one place, and on the first floor. It still needs a bit of finishing, but that is on the agenda for quieter times

2006
Just Flow started life as online store under the name of Flow Remedies. The main items were the Flow Remedies crystal essences, along with a few related items and pendulums.2007-2009
The next step was expanding the product range with dowsing wands, crystals, candles, incense and smudging herbs.2010

2014
Murphy's law struck during what was supposed to be a simple upgrade to a faster hosting package.OsCommerce wouldn't work on the new server, my main modules wouldn't work with the new version of OsCommerce and after a week of struggling, I threw in the towel and switched to Magento.
2014
Another expansion: adding the full Miron violet glass product range.2018
Another switch: Magento 2, with a new web host and a new theme.I also released a large batch of essences, clearing my back-log a bit.2019
Some upgrades to the store, like a premium theme, privacy module and some modules to make life more comfortable.2020
