Energy Protection

There are a lot of useful tools for energy protection and spiritual hygiene. They can support you in the daily maintenance of your energy field / aura, i.e. aura cleansing, aura healing and aura protection.

This category houses all sorts of items that have a link to energy protection: the removal and keeping out of 'foreign' energy and the prevention of leaking/stealing of your own energy.

'Foreign' in this context stands for all energies that are not your own. Like energies you could have picked up during a visit to a store, market or event, or that have latched on to you in passing because you were out of balance or not feeling well.

In addition to tools like smudging herbs, sprays, intention and visualisation, crystals can be utilized to support you in this effort. Where smudging, sprays, intention and visualisation require you to 'install' your protection actively and repeatedly, crystals are more of a 'fire and forget' kind of thing. As long as you remember to cleanse them once a week or more often, that is. There are loads of possibilities and combinations, depending you your goal, the kind of energy you wish to protect from and whatever appeals to you/fits your energy.

Below is a list of crystals that can be used for energy protection, with a short description of their energy in that regard. Apart from crystals that are traditionally used for energy protection, there are also a few crystals that have a supporting role. They help enhance the energy of other crystals.

• Labradorite - aura-protection, keeping out negative energy, also used for stopping the leaking/stealing of your energy.
• Black Tourmaline - for any kind of electric or human interference (as in signals/persons that interfere with your own energy/signal), transforms negative energy into positive energy and releases negative energy.
• Smoky Quartz - for grounding, absorbs negative energies, for better energy flow (and faster release of 'waste' energy)
• Rutilated Quartz - strenghtens solar plexus energy (where outside influences are processed energetically), and encourages indepencence (which helps set boundaries, which in turn has a knock-on effect energetically)
• Amazonite - encourages to let go of a victim mindset, which in turn helps you be more resilient. It also energises and regenerates.
• Jasper (red, black, brown, multi-colour, yellow) - protection, aura-cleansing, grounding, absorbs negative energy in the aura and balances the aura layers.
• Tiger's Eye (gold, red (bull's eye, cat's eye), blue (falcon's eye) - repels negative energy, encourages to be decisive, strenghtens solar plexus energy and enhances mental protection.
• Serpentine - aura-cleansing, protection against negative energy, helps put things in perspective (which helps with mental and emotional balance)
• Hematite (To be on the safe side, NEVER wear hematite when you have inflamation (probably because of the energetically warming properties of this crystal)) - protection against outside energy, grounding, strengthening the connection to the soul, helps be more decisive, powerful and courages. Balances yin and yang energies.
• Chiastolite - cleanses and strenghtens the aura, helps you find your goal/purpose (when you know what that is, it will help you set boundaries, and that has a knock-on effect energetically), chases away negative emotions and thoughts.
• Jet - connected to the Earth Star and Base chakras (will power, perseverance), a better connection with the earth helps you release negative energies. Protects against negative energies as well. Encourages you to release victim-thinking.
• Garnet - activates other crystals. Connects to the Earth Star and Base chakras and stand for grounding, inner strength, will power and the will to survive.
• Clear Quartz - has a cleansing and clarifying energy and enhances the energy of other crystals. .
• Kyanite - helps cleanse the aura and removes negativity.
• Onyx - transforms negativity into positivity, helps attract the energy needed for healing and growth.
• Shungite - strongly grounding and harmonising, cleanses the aura and protects against negativity. Shungite is also used for protection against electronic radiation/electrosmog.
• Obsidian - strongly grounding, protective against negative influences, cleanses negative influences and negative energy. Handle with care, it's a very powerful crystal that may also confront you with your fears. Use Snowflake or Mahogany Obsidian if the black variant is too much.
